Demographic
The area around Kingscliff has seen significant growth and development over the last ten years. Developments at Casuarina and Banora Point have encouraged an influx of new residents and have radically changed the demographic mix that was, historically, Kingscliff. A typical example of this is Kingscliff Primary school, whose pupil mix was typically 40% single parent, 30% indigenous and 30% mainstream families. This mix allowed the school to take advantage of xx programs and grants. This year the school has lost these allowance due to it’s pupil intake changing to that of a standard NSW developed school.
KDSC’s teams play in the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers leagues which is the home of a growing and prosperous population. Some interesting facts:
- A combined population of over 580,000 and an annual growth of 4% per year.
- A significant proportion of households have weekly incomes of $1,000 or more.
- Over 5,800 new dwellings are erected each year
- The Tweed Gold Coast region is located in the centre of Australia’s east coast growth
- Corridor, where 31% of the nation’s growth is anticipated to occur.
- 9% of the population of Kingscliff are members of KDFC
KDSC’s prominent and pivotal roles in the Tweed Valley Football Development Plans provide sponsors with a unique opportunity of reaching a wide audience of disposable income earners on a regular weekly basis. In addition, KDSC’s active promotion of players to the senior and professional divisions in NSW and Queensland provides wide marketing exposure for products, companies and services now and in the future.
