History

Soccer was introduced to Kingscliff in 1968 when Eric Oxley formed Kingscliff Junior Soccer Club.

Initially one under 8 team was entered into the local competition, this grew that same year to an under 10 and an Under 12 team.

For the next five years the teams played in the Gold Coast Competition playing in a white tee shirt with a gold and black logo, black shorts with gold and black socks.

In these early years no soccer fields were available at Kingscliff. Instead teams called a field at South Tweed Heads home. These fields were located on the site where the Boyds Bay Caravan Park now exists.

In 1972 grounds finally become available at Kingscliff but unfortunately, that same year due to older boys moving onto high school out of the area, the club disbanded.

1978 and the interest in soccer again took hold, and the club that is today was formed.

In 1985 Kingscliff made the difficult decision to move its membership to the Gold Coast Competition. In this competition the club has flourished and is regarded as a leader in the Soccer community. The early committee members were committed to the development of the game and in many ways, were ahead of their time.

As a direct result of their wisdom and foresight, the club today prospers, growing each year and is truly the way of the game in the area.
